Metallic Silhouette Shooting

Metallic silhouette shooting is a target shooting discipline in which participants fire rifles, pistols, or other firearms at steel targets shaped like animal silhouettes (such as chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams) set at various distances. The goal is to knock the metal silhouette off its stand with a well-placed shot, testing marksmanship and range estimation rather than pure accuracy on paper targets. It originated in Mexico in the mid-20th century and has since become a recognized competitive shooting sport internationally.
