Practical shooting is a dynamic shooting sport in which competitors move through a course of fire engaging targets in varied positions, testing accuracy, speed, and gun-handling under time pressure, often described by the motto 'diligentia, vis, celeritas' (accuracy, power, speed). It originated in the 1970s and is governed internationally by organizations like IPSC, with divisions for pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
