Pigeon-Shooting

Pigeon-shooting is a shooting sport in which participants fire shotguns at pigeons, historically live birds released from traps and now, in most countries, at clay targets designed to mimic a bird's flight (clay pigeon shooting or trapshooting). Live pigeon shooting was a fixture of 19th- and early 20th-century competitive shooting, including at early Olympic Games, but has largely been banned or replaced by clay targets on animal welfare grounds. The clay version remains a popular Olympic and recreational shooting discipline testing marksmen's speed and accuracy against fast-moving targets.
