Jieitaikakutōjutsu

Jieitaikakutōjutsu is the official close-quarters combat system developed for the Japan Self-Defense Forces, blending techniques from judo, karate, and other martial arts with practical striking, grappling, and weapon-disarming skills for military use. It was created to give service members a standardized, efficient method of unarmed and close combat. Some civilian martial artists train in it out of interest in Japanese military-derived combatives distinct from traditional sport martial arts.
