Gouren

Gouren is a traditional form of folk wrestling that originated in Brittany, France, in which competitors wear a jacket called a "roched" that opponents grip to execute throws. A match is won by throwing an opponent cleanly onto their back, with points awarded for lesser falls, and dangerous holds like strangleholds or punches are forbidden. It has grown from a rural festival tradition into an organized amateur sport with regional and national championships.
