Irish Road Bowling

Irish road bowling is a traditional sport in which players throw a small iron ball, called a bowl or bullet, along an ordinary country road, with the goal of covering a set course in the fewest throws. It is most popular in counties Cork and Armagh, where local roads are closed off temporarily for matches, and spectators follow along the route cheering competitors on. Technique, strategy for using the camber of the road, and strength all factor into achieving maximum distance per throw.
