Foil

Foil is one of the three weapons used in the sport of fencing (alongside épée and sabre), consisting of a thin, flexible blade with a blunted tip and a small bell guard. In foil fencing, valid touches are scored with the point only on the opponent's torso, and the sport follows strict right-of-way rules that reward attacking priority and precise timing. It is practiced both competitively, including at the Olympics, and recreationally by hobbyists learning footwork, blade control, and tactical dueling.
