Field Lacrosse

Field lacrosse is the traditional outdoor, ten-a-side version of lacrosse played on a large grass or turf field, in which players use a long-handled stick with a netted head to catch, carry, and throw a ball toward the opposing goal. It originated from games played by Indigenous peoples of North America and is now especially popular in the United States and Canada at the college and club level. It distinguishes itself from box lacrosse (played indoors on a smaller rink) through its larger playing area, offside rules, and greater emphasis on running and open-field strategy.
