Cornish Wrestling

Cornish wrestling, also called Cornish-style wrestling, is a traditional folk wrestling style from Cornwall, England, in which competitors wear a loose jacket and attempt to throw their opponent to the ground using holds on that jacket, with victory awarded for a clean fall onto the back. It is one of the oldest recorded forms of wrestling in Britain and shares common ancestry with Breton and Icelandic jacket-wrestling styles. Today it is preserved mainly through Cornish cultural societies and heritage competitions.
