Chariot Racing

Chariot racing was an ancient sport in which drivers steered light, two-wheeled chariots pulled by teams of horses around an oval track, most famously in venues like Rome's Circus Maximus and at the ancient Greek Olympic and Pythian Games. It was an extremely popular and dangerous spectator sport, with rival teams (identified by colors) attracting fierce fan loyalty and drivers risking serious injury or death in collisions and crashes.
