BMX Racing

BMX racing is a competitive off-road cycling discipline where riders race small 20-inch-wheel bikes around a dirt track featuring jumps, berms, and obstacles, typically in short, intense heats of about 30-45 seconds. It became an Olympic event at the 2008 Beijing Games and is governed internationally by the UCI. The sport rewards explosive starts, jumping technique (often "pumping" rather than airing over obstacles), and aggressive cornering.
