Barnstorming

Barnstorming was a form of daredevil aviation entertainment popular in the United States during the 1910s-1930s, in which pilots (often World War I surplus aircraft) toured small towns performing aerobatic stunts, wing-walking, and offering rides to spectators. It grew out of surplus planes and pilots after WWI and played a major role in popularizing aviation with the American public before stricter safety regulations curtailed the practice.
