Auto Polo
Auto polo was an early 20th-century motorsport in which players drove modified automobiles (usually stripped-down Ford Model Ts) while a mallet-wielding passenger attempted to hit a ball into a goal, mimicking equestrian polo. Popular as a novelty spectator sport in the United States from around 1911 into the 1920s, it was eventually abandoned due to the frequency of dangerous crashes and rollovers.
