Sprint Car Racing
Sprint car racing is a form of oval-track auto racing featuring lightweight, high-powered open-wheel cars, often equipped with large adjustable wings, that compete on short dirt or paved ovals. The cars have an extremely high power-to-weight ratio, making them prone to spectacular slides and requiring exceptional car control, particularly in dirt track series like the World of Outlaws in the United States. The sport has a strong grassroots following at local short tracks and has served as a proving ground for many top open-wheel and NASCAR drivers.
