Verification Engineer

Verification Engineers develop and execute test strategies to validate that semiconductor designs—ASICs, FPGAs, CPUs, and system-on-chip products—function correctly before manufacture. They build simulation environments and testbenches using languages like SystemVerilog and methodologies like UVM (Universal Verification Methodology), run constrained random testing, analyze coverage metrics, and debug complex functional issues across block and system levels. The role requires deep technical expertise in hardware verification tools and protocols, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with design and architecture teams to ensure silicon correctness and completeness.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Develop testbenches and simulation environments using SystemVerilog and UVM methodology to validate chip functionality
  • Execute constrained random testing and analyze coverage metrics to ensure comprehensive design validation
  • Debug functional issues across block and system levels to identify and resolve design errors
  • Create and implement test plans and verification strategies aligned with design specifications
  • Collaborate with design and architecture teams to verify complex digital and mixed-signal circuits
  • Perform gate-level simulation and RTL debugging to validate silicon correctness before manufacture
  • Work with industry-standard protocols and interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, AXI, and memory standards
