Belt Wrestling

Belt wrestling is a family of traditional grappling sports in which competitors grip each other's belts (rather than clothing generally) and attempt to throw or unbalance their opponent to score points, without striking. Variants such as Turkic kurash, Mongolian bökh-related belt styles, and Alysh are practiced across Central Asia, Turkey, and Russia, often rooted in centuries-old nomadic and folk traditions, and are now organized internationally with standardized rules.
