Suijutsu

Suijutsu is a traditional Japanese art of combat swimming and water survival developed by samurai and ninja for use in warfare, encompassing techniques for swimming in armor, fighting in water, and using weapons while submerged or afloat. It historically formed part of bugei (martial arts) curricula and is still preserved today by some koryu (classical) martial arts schools and enthusiasts of historical Japanese combat traditions. Practitioners train in skills like treading water for long periods, silent swimming, and underwater combat maneuvers.
