Russian boxing can refer to the strong Olympic-style amateur boxing tradition in Russia, which has produced numerous world and Olympic champions through a rigorous state-supported training system, as well as to older Russian folk fist-fighting (kulachniy boy), a traditional bare-knuckle sport historically practiced between village groups. Both reflect a long cultural association between Russia and combat sports.
