Steer Riding

Steer riding is a rodeo event, often a junior or entry-level version of bull riding, in which a rider attempts to stay mounted on a bucking steer (a young or smaller bovine) for a set time, typically using one hand gripping a rope. It serves as a stepping stone for young or novice riders to develop the balance and skill needed before progressing to bull riding. It's popular at youth rodeos across the United States and Canada.
