Bareback Bronc Riding

Bareback bronc riding is a rodeo event in which a rider must stay mounted on a bucking, unsaddled horse for eight seconds using only a leather rigging strapped around the horse's shoulders for grip, with no saddle or reins to hold onto. Judges score the ride based on both the rider's control and spurring technique and the horse's bucking performance. It is considered one of the most physically demanding rodeo events due to the violent, jarring motion riders must absorb without saddle support.
