Spud
Spud is a group outdoor game, typically played with a playground ball, in which one player throws the ball into the air while calling out a number assigned to another player; that player must catch the ball while everyone else scatters, then throw it to try to hit a fleeing player, accumulating letters spelling S-P-U-D as a penalty. It's a simple, low-equipment game popular among children at recess, camps, and parks, valued for combining tag-like running with catching and throwing skills. It requires no special equipment beyond a ball and is easy to organize with any number of players.
