Sprint Canoe

Sprint canoe (canoe sprint) is an Olympic paddling discipline in which athletes kneel in single-blade paddle canoes and race in a straight line on calm water over set distances, most commonly 200m, 500m, and 1000m. Competitors race in lanes on flatwater courses, and events include solo (C1) and team boats (C2, C4), testing raw power, paddling technique, and endurance. It is a core canoe/kayak discipline governed by the International Canoe Federation and contested at the Olympics and World Championships.
