Sprint Kayak

Sprint kayak is an Olympic flatwater paddling discipline in which athletes sit in kayaks and propel themselves with a double-bladed paddle, racing in a straight line over standard distances of 200m, 500m, and 1000m. Events include individual (K1), pairs (K2), and four-person (K4) boats for both men and women, contested on calm, buoyed racecourses. It is one of the most prominent canoe/kayak sports at the Olympics, rewarding a combination of raw power, stroke efficiency, and endurance.
