Sled Dog Racing

Sled dog racing, or mushing, is a winter sport in which a musher directs a team of dogs (commonly Alaskan huskies) pulling a sled across snow or ice courses ranging from short sprints to multi-day endurance races like the Iditarod. It draws on the historical use of dog teams for transport in Arctic regions and tests both the dogs' stamina and the musher's teamwork and navigation skills.
