Saidi

Saidi is a folkloric dance style from Sa'id (Upper Egypt), performed to distinctive rhythmic music and often incorporating the raqs al-assaya (cane dance), in which dancers wield a cane in playful imitation of stick-fighting movements. It is characterized by strong, grounded steps and shoulder shimmies, and is a staple of Egyptian folk and belly dance repertoires.
