Duranguense

Duranguense (also called tecnobanda or pasito duranguense) is a genre of Mexican regional music that originated among Mexican immigrant communities in Chicago in the late 1990s and early 2000s, drawing on the banda tradition of the state of Durango. It's characterized by fast tempos, heavy use of synthesizers and tubas alongside brass, and an accompanying fast-paced, hopping dance style. The genre became a major crossover hit in Mexican-American nightclubs and radio during the 2000s.
