Insect Fighting

Insect fighting is a traditional pastime in which two insects of the same species, such as crickets, beetles, or spiders, are placed together to fight, often with spectators wagering on the outcome. It has deep cultural roots in China (cricket fighting dates back over a thousand years), as well as in Japan and parts of Southeast Asia where rhinoceros beetle fights are staged. Owners often breed and feed their insects specially to maximize aggression and strength before a match.
