Ice Climbing

Ice climbing is a mountaineering discipline that involves ascending frozen waterfalls, ice-covered rock faces, or glacier formations using specialized tools such as ice axes (or ice tools) and crampons attached to boots. Climbers place these tools into the ice to gain purchase as they move upward, often while roped in and protected by ice screws for safety. It attracts climbers and mountaineers drawn to the technical challenge, the striking alpine or frozen-waterfall scenery, and the physical intensity of climbing a constantly changing medium.
