Freestyle Wrestling

Freestyle wrestling is an Olympic combat sport in which competitors attempt to take down and pin their opponent's shoulders to the mat, using techniques that involve both the upper and lower body, including leg attacks, unlike Greco-Roman wrestling which restricts holds to the upper body. Matches are won by points scored through takedowns, exposures, and pins within a timed bout. It is practiced internationally as both an amateur Olympic sport and a foundation for scholastic and collegiate wrestling in countries like the United States.
