Free Solo Climbing

Free solo climbing is a form of rock climbing performed without ropes, harnesses, or any other protective gear, meaning a fall from height would likely be fatal. Climbers rely entirely on physical skill, route memorization, and mental composure, and the discipline was brought to wide public attention by climbers such as Alex Honnold, notably his ascent of El Capitan's Freerider route documented in the film "Free Solo."
