Free Flight

Free flight is a branch of model aviation in which model aircraft—gliders, rubber-band powered planes, or small engine-powered planes—fly unguided, with no radio control or tether from the ground. Enthusiasts focus on trimming and building the model so it achieves stable, efficient flight and maximum duration or distance on its own, and competitions judge flight time or altitude.
