Supersport racing is a motorcycle road-racing class for production-based middleweight motorcycles (typically around 600cc four-cylinder or 750-955cc twin-cylinder machines), sitting below the more powerful Superbike class in categories like the FIM Supersport World Championship. Regulations keep modifications closer to stock specification than in Superbike racing, emphasizing rider skill and close, competitive racing over outright horsepower.
