F1 Powerboat Racing

F1 powerboat racing (officially the UIM F1H2O World Championship) is the premier international series for offshore-style circuit racing of catamaran powerboats, which can exceed speeds of 140 mph. Teams and drivers compete on closed water circuits, often in harbors or bays adjacent to major cities, in a format modeled loosely on Formula 1 car racing. It draws fans interested in high-speed motorsport spectacle combined with the technical engineering of hydroplaning hulls and powerful outboard engines.
