Surfboat

A surfboat is a specially designed rowing boat used in surf lifesaving, built to launch through and be rowed back in through breaking waves. Crews of rowers (with a sweep steering at the back) race surfboats in competitions held at surf lifesaving carnivals, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, testing strength, timing, and skill in reading surf conditions.
