Electric boogaloo is a street dance style that emerged in Fresno, California in the 1970s, characterized by fluid, rolling hip and knee movements combined with pops and locks, danced to funk and electro-funk music. It was popularized by dance crews like the Electric Boogaloos and became part of the broader funk styles umbrella alongside popping and locking. The phrase later became a pop-culture punchline after the 1984 film "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo," used to mock unnecessary sequels.
