Lambada

Lambada is a fast, sensual partner dance and musical genre that originated in northern Brazil, blending influences from Caribbean merengue, forró, and other Latin rhythms, characterized by close hip-to-hip contact and fluid hip movements. It became a global pop culture phenomenon in the late 1980s, driven largely by the French-Brazilian group Kaoma's 1989 hit song "Lambada." It is danced socially and competitively, prized for its rhythmic energy and romantic, playful style.
