Contract Bridge

Contract bridge is a trick-taking card game for four players in two competing partnerships, combining a bidding phase that sets a contract with careful card play to fulfill or defeat it. It rewards memory, probability assessment, partnership communication through bidding conventions, and tactical skill, making it a favorite of both casual social players and serious tournament competitors. Duplicate bridge, played in clubs and championships worldwide, is one of the most intellectually demanding card games in wide practice.
