Color Guard

Color guard is a visual performance activity, typically paired with a marching band, in which performers use flags, rifles, sabers, and dance-like movement to interpret music through choreography. Rooted in the military tradition of carrying and protecting a unit's colors, it evolved into a competitive and artistic discipline judged on technique, equipment work, and showmanship. Many schools field indoor winter guard teams that compete independently of marching band season.
