Cham Dance

Cham is a ritual masked dance performed by monks in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries across Tibet, Bhutan, Mongolia, and parts of the Himalayas, typically during religious festivals. Dancers wear elaborate costumes and carved masks depicting deities, demons, and protective spirits, and the choreography is believed to dispel negative forces and bring blessings to observers rather than serve as pure entertainment.
