Artistic Gymnastics

Artistic gymnastics is an Olympic sport in which athletes perform acrobatic and strength-based routines on specific apparatuses (such as floor, vault, and rings for men, or floor, vault, uneven bars, and balance beam for women), judged on execution, difficulty, and artistry. It demands exceptional strength, flexibility, balance, and precision, and is popular both as an elite competitive pursuit and a recreational activity for children building coordination and fitness. Governed internationally by the FIG (Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique), it is one of the marquee events of the Summer Olympics.
