Georgia Job Postings Nearly Triple Week Over Week: 178 New Roles vs 62

Georgia posted 178 new roles this week across the employer job boards we track, up from 62 the week before. That's an increase of 116 postings, or 187% — the steepest week-over-week jump of any state in our top 12.

For scale: the whole week added 9,328 new postings across the boards we track, up from 7,064 the prior week, a 32% gain. Georgia grew roughly six times faster than the national week. Its share of all new postings moved from 0.9% to 1.9% in seven days.

Georgia is still a mid-sized state on our boards

The percentage jump is the headline, but volume keeps it in perspective. Georgia ranked 10th of the 12 states with openings this week — behind California (610), Texas (562), Florida (398) and New York (382), and just behind North Carolina (192) and New Jersey (172).

With a base of 62 postings the prior week, a swing of a hundred-odd roles is enough to triple the count. That's worth saying plainly: this is a small pool moving fast, not a large one moving a little.

Georgia wasn't alone, but it was the extreme

Nine of the 12 states we tracked openings in grew week over week. The gainers, by percentage change:

North Carolina was the next-sharpest riser at +113% (192 from 90), then Florida at +86% (398 from 214) and New Jersey at +76% (172 from 98). Pennsylvania doubled its way to 200 from 117, Ohio reached 200 from 137, Massachusetts hit 157 from 97, and Illinois went to 212 from 174.

The flat and falling side: Michigan held exactly even at 221, New York slipped to 382 from 391, and California eased to 610 from 639. The three biggest states on our boards by prior-week volume all went sideways or down while the Southeast ran.

Who was hiring this week

Our employer counts are network-wide rather than split by state, so these are the week's largest posters across all boards we crawl — the backdrop against which Georgia's gain landed. AdventHealth led with 669 new postings and 992 open. Ranger Boats added 527 (732 open), Merck 368 (584 open), Target 301 (673 open) and Tyson Foods 223 (613 open). Rounding out the top ten: Lifepoint Hospitals (219), Meijer (203), Cleveland Clinic (199), Marriott International (189) and JLL (178). Health systems, food production and retail did most of the week's heavy lifting.

The longer view is flat

Zoom out a month and the surge disappears. The last 30 days produced 28,749 new postings across the boards we track, against 28,964 in the 30 days before — down 215, or 0.7%. A hot week inside a flat month usually means timing, not a new trend.

The network currently shows 57,713 open listings from 685 employers hiring. Closings outpaced openings over the same seven days: 19,052 listings came down against 9,328 that went up. Remote roles were 5% of new postings.
