New Jersey Postings Jump 72% to 186 New Roles This Week | Career App Daily

New Jersey picked up 186 new roles in the past seven days across the employer job boards we track, up from 108 the week before. That is a 72% increase — roughly double the pace of the week as a whole.

Nationally, across every board we crawl, new postings went from 7,440 to 9,972 week over week, a 34% rise. So New Jersey grew about twice as fast as the overall board, though off a small base: its 186 roles are 1.9% of the week's 9,972 new listings, up from 1.5% a week earlier.

Where New Jersey sits among the 12 states

Our openings currently map to 12 states, and New Jersey is the smallest of them by new roles this week — 186 against California at 840 and Texas at 571. Ranked by growth rate rather than volume, the picture flips: New Jersey is fourth.

Pennsylvania (98 to 261) and Michigan (94 to 229) more than doubled, and Colorado rose 73% (110 to 190). New Jersey's 72% lands just behind Colorado. At the other end, New York added only 25 roles week over week (420 to 445), a 6% gain, so the Northeast's two big markets moved in very different directions on our boards this week.

The wider board

57,521 listings are open across 686 employers hiring, and while 9,972 roles opened in the last seven days, 18,780 closed. The pool is shrinking even as new-posting volume rises — closures outpaced openings by nearly two to one. Monthly, new postings are running 32,947 over the last 30 days against 24,574 in the prior 30, a 34% increase that matches the weekly rate almost exactly.
