Texas Postings Doubled This Week: 585 New Roles vs 285, Second Only to California
Texas job postings roughly doubled week over week across the employer boards we track: 585 new roles in the last seven days, up from 285 the week before. That is a gain of 300 postings, or 105%, and it puts Texas second in volume behind California, which added 733.

How Texas sits against the national week
The whole tracked network sped up, not just Texas. New postings across all boards we crawl came in at 10,636 this week against 6,421 the prior week — up 66%. So Texas grew faster than the network as a whole, and its share of new postings rose from 4.4% to 5.5%.
It was not the fastest riser, though. Among the twelve states with new postings this week, several smaller pools grew harder: North Carolina went from 76 to 200 (+163%), Florida from 176 to 447 (+154%), Pennsylvania from 97 to 241 (+148%) and Tennessee from 102 to 250 (+145%). Texas's distinction is scale: only California posted more.

Over 30 days, new postings total 28,855 against 28,723 in the prior 30 — essentially flat. The weekly jump is a change in posting timing across the boards we crawl, concentrated in a handful of large employers, rather than a month-long acceleration. Closures ran well ahead of openings over the same seven days: 21,754 listings came down while 10,636 went up, leaving 57,578 open listings from 685 employers across 12 states.
The employers driving the week
Our weekly employer leaderboard runs network-wide rather than state by state, so it shows which boards were busy, not which of those postings landed in Dallas or Houston. The ten most active employers this week:
- AdventHealth — 669 new, 992 open
- Merck — 368 new, 584 open
- U.S. Bank — 315 new, 1,010 open
- Target — 301 new, 673 open
- Citigroup — 289 new, 476 open
- Stryker Corporation — 262 new, 749 open
- Tyson Foods — 223 new, 613 open
- Lifepoint Hospitals — 219 new, 339 open
- Meijer — 203 new, 674 open
- Cleveland Clinic — 199 new, 905 open
Health systems account for three of the top four by new volume and 2,236 of the open listings on that list alone. Banking (U.S. Bank, Citigroup) contributes 1,486 open roles, and retail and food (Target, Meijer, Tyson Foods) another 1,960.
Remote work was not part of this week's story. Only 3% of new postings across the network carried a remote designation, which means the Texas gain is overwhelmingly on-site work.
What pays, network-wide
Posted salary figures on Career App are employer-posted ranges annualized to USD, and the medians below pool all states rather than Texas alone. The deepest pool is Software Engineer at a $240,000 median across 1,056 listings with a range published. Above it: Machine Learning Engineer at $283,700 (92 listings) and Engineering Manager at $278,425 (190 listings) — both small pools. Sales Representative sits lowest on the top-ten list at $79,698 across 140 listings.

If you are searching Texas, the practical read is that supply widened sharply this week from a thin base, and the fastest-moving boards are hospitals, banks and large retailers. Jobs in Texas shows what is currently live.
