Ski Ballet
Ski ballet, also known as acroski, is a discontinued discipline of freestyle skiing performed on a gently sloped course in which skiers execute a choreographed routine of spins, flips, pole tricks, and small jumps set to music. It emphasized artistry, balance, and technical skill over speed or big-air acrobatics, evaluated by judges much like figure skating. It was featured as a demonstration sport at the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics before declining in popularity and being dropped from international competition by the mid-1990s.
