Ski Field Shooting

Ski field shooting refers to a winter sport format that combines cross-country or alpine skiing with target shooting on a rifle range set up in the ski field, in the same general spirit as biathlon. Competitors ski a timed course and stop at intervals to fire at fixed targets, with shooting misses typically adding time penalties or extra distance. It tests both cardiovascular endurance and the ability to steady one's aim immediately after strenuous physical exertion.
