Skeleton
Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which an athlete rides face-down and head-first on a small sled down a steep, icy, curved track, reaching speeds over 130 kilometers per hour. Unlike bobsleigh or luge, the rider has no steering mechanism aside from subtle body movements, making it one of the most dangerous sports at the Winter Olympics, where it has been a medal event since 2002. It demands a powerful sprint start combined with precise, high-speed steering through the course's curves.
