Robot Jockey

A robot jockey is a lightweight remote-controlled device mounted on a racing camel in place of a human rider, used to steer the animal and operate a small whip mechanism while a handler follows alongside in a vehicle giving commands by radio. Gulf countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Qatar adopted robot jockeys in the 2000s to end the exploitative use of young children as camel jockeys.
