Ringette

Ringette is an ice sport, invented in Canada in 1963, played with a straight stick and a rubber ring instead of a puck. Teams try to shoot the ring into the opposing net while skating on a rink similar to an ice hockey rink, but body checking and slap shots are not allowed. It is played predominantly by women and girls and remains most popular in Canada, with growing leagues in Finland, the United States, and elsewhere.
