Paracanoe

Paracanoe is a Paralympic water sport in which athletes with physical impairments race single kayaks (using a double-bladed paddle) or, in some classes, va'a outrigger canoes (single-bladed paddle) over a 200-meter sprint course on flatwater. Competitors are classified into categories reflecting trunk, arm, and leg function, with some using specialized seating or support structures for stability. It became a Paralympic sport at the 2016 Rio Games and attracts athletes for its combination of upper-body power, technique, and sprint racing intensity.
