Kirkwall Ba' Game

The Kirkwall Ba' Game is a traditional mass street football match held in Kirkwall, Orkney, Scotland, each Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Two teams, the Uppies and the Doonies (determined by birthplace or family tradition), scrum through the town's streets for hours trying to force a leather ball to their respective goal, in a rowdy, centuries-old community custom.
